This week Aylish and Ffion had surgery on the same day.
May 4th 2001
A big day for the Worsey family - tonsils and adenoids out, tubes in and let's not forget one broken finger.......
Mom felt like a real winner having sent Rylee to bed the night before after she got hut playing with Keira, crap - it was actually broken! Thanks to Aunt Dianne for taking care of my neglected, purple handed, bruised, swollen, broken boned child,
and again I'm SOOOO sorry Ry xxxxx
Here we are day 1:
Pre-op.
Aylish was sick at Kalia's house once and borrowed some jammies to come home in. These are called her I AM SICK jammies - hence she wore them to the hospital (they are washed and ready to be returned....again).
She was VERY excited to get her tonsils and adenoids out, though, having come out the other end, I think she might have changed her mind on that one. Here's both of them happy and innocently ready for the day.
Gotta love the hospital jammies, Ffions were slightly big and Aylish's one size fits all underwear (you know ladies, the ones we get post delivery, yup, those) left her less than impressed with her wardrobe for the day. Still they were excited to be there.
Until.....
They took them away, here's Aylish just before they take her from me, now realizing she going without me, the apprehension sets in.
There goes my little girl crying screaming down the hall to the O.R. (insert mommy shedding tears here)
Ffion had come out of her surgery already and was at first VERY upset with it all but after her 1.5 hours of crying and screaming she settled down. The Doctor said she had never seen so much pressure and build up behind a baby of that age's ears (she's nearly 8 months). Her poor little ears drained yucky fluid and blood for a couple of days, poor munchkin.
We left the hospital and headed home, if I had known then what I know now, this step would have been missed....at least till another day.
Night one - no sleep, up every 20-30 minutes with Aylish who refused to drink or take any of her pain meds =
VERY LONG NIGHT.
