Bring on the Summer!

Today we got all the bikes out of the basement, oiled, tightened and fix any broken parts and went for the FIRST BIKE RIDE OF 2010 (k, so maybe Richard did all the fixing stuff but we all went on the bike ride)! It was so much fun. Keira who has just taught herself to ride a two wheeler this week rode like she's been riding forever~well except for maybe the one crash into the brick wall.....her pride would not let her show how much it must have really hurt - which was fine cause there were no tears. Go Keira Go!

After riding into town to pick up some batteries for the camera, we stopped at the school to play at the park where Richard chased the girls around pretty much the WHOLE time (he was the bad guy). We then rode on to the new house to check out the progress there. I love weekends when we can just hang out as a family. Tonight we're off to family swim in Lethbridge ~~~~FUN FUN FUN!!!!

Meet Aylish

Most of you know Aylish and hopefully love her to bits just like we do and most of you know how persistent and strong willed this little girl is and has been since day 1. At times I find myself a bit scared of what she will present but so far I've managed to cope...at least most days. For awhile I have been wanting to take her bottles away, something she LOVES and makes nap times and bedtimes soooo easy. She only has them at bedtime and she's still my little girl but I knew that it was time for the change. Scared and nervous I put her to bed on Sunday night without one. I told her that her 'baba' was going to go to a baby that needed it. She looked at me quite unbelieving and I almost caved into those beautiful big blue eyes. I didn't though and for an hour and a half I heard her saying from her bed "Mommy baba's mine", in a little sweet voice that would break your heart. She never cried or got mad, just called from her bed as if I had forgotten to give it to her. She eventually fell asleep. I am very excited to say that she has not had a 'baba' since Saturday night. She doesn't even get a sippy to go to bed with. Just a drink of milk in a big girls cup before she goes down. Yesterday, though a little hesitant she even watched her cousin Annaliesse drink and then take her bottles home with her. I feel so happy to have passed this milestone.....next adventure....potty training.

Happy Birthday Keira!

It's funny to think back 6 years ago when Keira came into our lives. At the time I remember thinking that now I had a 'real' family. Somehow having 2 kids felt more like a family than just having one! Keira is a real sweetheart, always willing to help out and always having some intelligent explanation to give about things that outsmart me (not that that is all that hard). I remember when Keira was blessed as a tiny 3 week old baby Richard blessed her with a sense of humour. At the time I thought it was a really strange thing to bless a child with but I'm so glad he did. She has had to learn that it's ok to laugh, even at yourself sometimes. Don't get me wrong she is a VERY happy little girl, but she has a VERY serious side that sometimes gets in her way. I thank my Heavenly Father for continually blessing Keira and our family. We love her to bits.

Happy Birthday To Me!

I'm still not very good at keeping this up to date and in order BUT I couldn't resists these pictures when I finally downloaded them off my camera. For my birthday party last week we had a picture scavenger hunt with some friends of our before heading to Moxies for dinner. We played guys against the girls, we called the game a tie but we ALL know the boys cheated and we really won...end of.

I love the picture of Heather and Kristin in the shopping cart, and the one of the lovely boy serenading us with his hip guitar is also great. By the way did you know that you're not allowed to take pictures in Walmart???? At least that's what the grumpy lady told us....we didn't listen, we just were quieter!!! You also probably don't know how hard it is to find a belt buckle with a truck on it.....you probably can imagine the looks when we asked though lol! Anyway, we all had lots of fun - you're never too old for teenager games!

Daddy + iPhone + Park outing!

This is what can happen when one daddy is busy playing on his iPhone. I have to admit it's pretty funny - Aylish has watched and laughed at this video all morning so no long term scaring!
