Once Upon That First Time...

I cannot believe how quickly babies grow.  

One minute they're in tiny little premie clothes and the next you're feeding them from a spoon. 

 Ffion is now 5 months and here's a snap shot of her first encounter with food on a spoon.

Perhaps the face wouldn't be as disgusted looking if Grampa Martin lived closer.  I think Ffion made it further than any other of my kids before being introduced to food.  Here's a rundown of what she's missed out on:

• Angel Food Cake, Strawberries & Whip Cream at 1 month
• Ice Cream Sundae at 2 months
• Chocolate Bar at 3 months
• Chinese Takeout at 4 months

I think you catch my drift.  Yep, she's missed having a Grampa around, utterly ripped off - she'll probably be the fussiest of eaters later in life because of it.  For now, we'll keep going with the baby rice, despite the faces of disgust.   

Touching Moment

Yesterday Keira came home from school in tears, absolutely beside herself from the 'worst day of her life' kinda day.  I guess she got separated from her friends at morning recess and couldn't find them, or anyone else to play with (I wonder how that could happen, there's only 500+ kids all playing on one playground).  

Anyway, big sister Shannon went over to her sobbing sister, put her arms around her and with tears in her eyes said to Keira "I'm so sorry I didn't know you were alone and I'm sorry you couldn't find me".  It's moments like those that melt mom's heart and remind me of the great example of love, compassion and empathy that my girls have for each other.

Drinking Toilet Cleaner

That's exactly what it's like (I imagine).  It's enough to almost put me off drinking the real stuff.......ALMOST but not quite.  

This made me laugh, though you're probably way more mature!

I'm sorry if I have offended the full fat Dr that occupies most of my days.

1885 was a great year, I'm glad I was born after then.

BIG BOLD & BEAUTIFUL

Measuring a total of 7 feet long and 2 feet wide, finally something to fill my dinning area wall!  I just might sleep on the table tonight, just so when I open my eyes I can see it.  

I just love it when things turn out as better than planned!

December's Been and Gone

 Here's some of what we want to remember happening this December!

I tried and tried and finally got it right...mmmm, chocolates (now can be found on my chin, hips, butt and stomach)!  Yay!

We spent Christmas Eve & morning with Uncle Brian (the only immediate family member who didn't desert us for Wales, blah to the rest of you).

I made (successfully I might add) my very first turkey all by myself!  I am very proud of this, hence the oversized picture!

We then headed to Edmonton for 3 days of fun filled excitement for all (except maybe Ffion who had her right ear drum burst, poor baby).

Tuesday was spent at the Waterpark, it was Shannon's 9th birthday too!  She had a great day.  Jam packed with swimming, eating and watching Tangled in the Cinema with Dad and her sisters.
